Today we are thinking about our phonic sounds. Have you been watching the phonics video and learning the actions for the sounds?
One video explains the actions and the other is the songs that go with the action. These phonics actions will help children when entering reception as this will be continued next year. Phonics is a very important part of our learning in early years and will benefit your child greatly when moving onto reading basic words.
Ask your child, which sound does your name begin with? What is the action for this sound? Repeat with other peoples names in your house. What are the actions?
When you have watched the videos, have a go at our ispy checklist. Talk about the initial sound you can hear in the word. For example..... ball . emphasize b b ball. Can you child say the sound and do the action?
