Returning to School

For children returning to school there will now be a non-contact days home learning timetable which will reinforce and enhance learning that has taken place in school. Related resources will be available in the relevant subject tabs below. The class page will continue to be updated as it has been for those children not yet returning to school.

Image result for world mental health day 2019To celebrate World Mental Health day, and promote positive mental health in Reception, we explored things that make us happy.  We linked this with our work on the Power of Reading text ' Anna Hibiscus' song'. Anna found that pounding yams made her happy, so we explored whether pounding yams would make us feel happy too!

This term our theme is UNDER THE SEA.

2 Times Table Song (Learning is Fun The Todd & Ziggy Way!)

One of the songs we use in class to help us remember counting in 2's and the 2 times table.

The children were not stopped by the rain today ....... zips up and hoods up.....and ready to play!

Seasons Song (Learn the Seasons of the Year for Kids)

The Seasons Song is a Science song that teaches the seasons of the year. The Seasons Song teaches the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Reception Apple Pies

Ingredients:

Small tortilla wraps

2 apples

2 tspns cinnamon

2 tspns caster sugar

Melted butter

2 tspns demerara sugar

 

Equipment:

Chopping board, knife, bowl, spoon, baking tray, pastry brush, fork

 

Method:

  1. Core the apple and chop into small pieces (leave the skin on) and place in bowl.
  2. Mix in bowl with cinnamon and sugar.
  3. Cut wraps in half and place small quantity of apple mixture on wrap.
  4. Use finger to paint cold water around outside of wrap and fold over to create a parcel, press down with finger, then seal with fork (so it looks like a pasty).
  5. Place on baking tray and paint with butter, sprinkle over small amount of demerara sugar.
  6. Bake at 180°c for approx. 8-10 mins or until golden brown.
