July 20th 2021

June 2021

The PTA funds that you have helped us raise go towards a number of projects (see below).

Dunchurch Playground

Work has begun on the Dunchurch playground by replacing the old play equipment to create a Play Grass Sport Area. Children will be able to enjoy a range of activities and games during outdoor play and PE lessons throughout the year.

Wetland Project - Merttens site

Fencing has now been installed around the pond and further improvements will take place over the next few weeks.  The damaged pond liner will be removed alongside some of the old overgrowth and mud.  A new liner will be installed, which will allow the pond to hold water once again.  With some plant life replaced, plus adding some additional wildlife friendly plants, we hope to see the pond spring back into life!  The pond will establish over the coming months and will become a really wild feature of the school grounds where pupils can learn about ponds and the wildlife that calls it home well into the future.

Year 6 Leavers Hoodies

Our Year 6 pupils will be receiving their leavers hoodies on Friday 18th June, we hope they will be proud to wear them as a memory of their time at St. Marie's.  We wish them every success in their new adventure at high school.

Uniform sale

The second-hand uniform sale that took place on both sites last week raised £138.26!  We hope to have another sale in the Autumn term and will be happy to accept any donations in September.

Upcoming events

Go green day - 15th March
Sponsored walk - 4th April

January 2019 - Young Voices & Bag2School

December 2018

December was a busy month for the PTA. We had many events running during the school day and in the evenings.

The PTA committee were blown away by the number of parents and grandparents who volunteered their time and help to support us during the Christmas period. We had a team of nearly 30 helpers who wrapped presents, supported the Christmas parties, sold raffle tickets and served refreshments. You were all amazing, thank you very much!!

We planned and prepared the Christmas parties on both sites. Children enjoyed playing a selection of Christmas themed games and made either Reindeer food (Dunchurch site) or a Reindeer hot chocolate cone (Merttens Site) to take home.

After the party, all children were given a Christmas goody bag with some Christmas treats. Father Christmas visited the classrooms on party day to deliver a present for each child.

The Christmas raffle and refreshments raised £541 for the PTA funds. We prepared some great prizes and were very grateful to receive a stunning donated hamper to raffle. Congratulations to all the raffle prize winners.

On Christmas dinner day, the PTA supplied some Christmas tablecloths to make the children's lunch a little more fun and festive.

November 2018
The PTA organised the annual Christmas card design scheme. Lots of families supported this activity and the children created some brilliant pieces of art work to be printed onto cards and mugs. A huge £731 worth of orders were placed. Fantastic support from our school community, thank you to everyone who took part.

The PTA also funded the Choir's Young Voices t-shirt packs ready for their performance at the Genting arena in January 2019.
