Friday 22nd January

Friday is P.E day at Nursery. We would like you to have a go at some more parachute games. Use a blanket or a sheet to pretend to be a parachute. Which nursery rhymes did we do last week? ( 1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive and round and round the garden) Mrs James enjoyed seeing your videos and photos of you and your family playing with your make shift parachutes!

This week we would like you to try:

Wheels on the bus

Hold the blanket nice and tight as you sing copy these actions.

  • Begin to sing ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, changing the actions for each of the verses:
  • “The wheels on the bus go round and round.” – All walk in the same direction, holding onto the parachute.
  • “The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish.” – Stand still whilst holding the parachute, and move their hands from side to side.
  • “The children on the bus jump up and down.” – Move the parachute up and down.
  • “The doors on the bus go open and shut.”Everyone walks to the middle and back out again.
  • “The babies on the bus go waah, waah, waah.” – Shake the parachute quickly.
  • “The mummies/daddies on the bus go shhh, shhh, shhh.” – Move the parachute in a rocking motion.

You may want to put some dolls/ people in the middle of the parachute like the people on the bus.

Or you could print out the ‘people sheet’ and use the cut outs in the middle of your parachute for each verse. For example add in the children when you sing their verse etc. Look at all the people in the pictures , which ones are most like your family? Maybe you could include a grandma or a grandad in your wheels on the bus song. What do they do on the bus? ( knitting, snoring, reading a paper?) Think about the action you could make the parachute do for this!

Don’t forget to send a photo or a video clip of you and your family enjoying the parachute games.
