The House Teams

In School life

At St Marie's Catholic Primary School & Nursery we have four house teams. They are based on the four saints: St Andrew, St David, St George and St Patrick.

These important people are patron saints for many different countries. In the United Kingdom St Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, St David is the patron saint of Wales, St George is the patron saint of England and St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.

At school, children are allocated a house which they remain in throughout their education at St Maries. Children can gain House Points (HP) which they record on a chart in the classroom. At the end of each week the points are counted. Whoever has collected the most points is the winner for that particular week.

House Points can be gained for exceptional academic work. The children know that they should take pride in the fact, that if they achieve a House Point they are helping their team to succeed!

In faith

We celebrate the feast day of each saint every year!

In November we remember all the saints and ask them for help through our prayers.
