School Partnerships

THE COMMUNITY OF PARISH AND SCHOOL: Without the Church we would not have a parish, and without our parish we would not have our Catholic Schools. Our priests give guidance in the spiritual life of the School. As a class, Year-group or whole-school, we often celebrate Mass and other Acts of Worship, to which parents and friends are welcome. Requests for children to receive First Holy Communion and Confirmation have to be made to the Parish Priest. We expect children to make a contribution to the parish in time and effort and by being part of the active congregation. Parishioners support school functions, encourage our pupils and set an example for them as the future adults of the Church.

PARENTS: Parents are the most influential people in all aspects of their children's development and especially in the spiritual dimension. Their attitude and example are of the utmost importance in encouraging school work and learning, and in influencing behaviour. The effort of parents within the P.T.A. is greatly appreciated.

TEACHERS: Much that our teachers do is laid down by law. Implementing the National Curriculum is a statutory duty. Our teachers care for each individual, and through their professional skills match the work to the needs of each child.

GOVERNORS: The Governors meet at least six times a Year to determine policies. They are the employers of the Staff. We have a delegated budget as part of the policy of Local Management of Schools and have our own bank account. The Governors have to prepare an Annual Report and hold an annual meeting with parents.

WARWICKSHIRE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY: Financial support and professional services, inspection and advice for teachers and children are provided by the L.E.A.

CHILDREN: All of these aspects of partnership are for one purpose: to educate our children, academically, physically and spiritually. They are the citizens, the parents, the Church of the future. In School we expect children to work hard at their studies, acquiring self discipline and responsibility as well as knowledge and skills. Above all, we hope they will learn to play their part in the partnership with God.
