OTHER NEWS AND SPORT
CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN…The School Council organised a cake sale in November. Over 60 children brought in cakes for sale, with many more customers! £101.55 was raised for the Pattaya Orphanage. Many thanks to all who helped!
Our Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham has been asked to raise £70, 000 a year to pay for the education of 500 children in Thailand. The Pattaya Orphanage has 200 Burmese orphans, whose parents have been killed in war, and who have escaped to Thailand – a journey that included crossing a wide and deep river. The children must have school uniform – which can be bought for £5 – or they will be deported and could be sold into slavery. Our pupils are determined to do whatever we can to help these children. For more information go to www.pattayaorphanage.org.uk
WOW! –Walk On Wednesdays... LET YOUR CHILD WALK at least TEN MINUTES of the journey to and from school. If you don’t want to do this every day, WOW means, THINK WEDNESDAYS! Children who walk, cycle,or park and stride, at least once a week receive a badge at the end of the month.
Football – v. St Matthew’s Bloxam lost 1-2
All children and families are warmly invited to the St Marie’s Church Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 2pm. Younger children may come dressed as angels, shepherds or wise men and take par n acting the Christmas story. Any children who would like to sing or play an instrument, come to a rehearsal on Sunday 14th December at 2.45pm in St Marie’s Church. For further details contact Lindsay Pelloquin, telephone 541207.
We wish all in our school community and families
a happy and holy Christmas.
